Communities in Bloom (CiB) is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community involvement and the challenge of a national program, with focus on the promotion of green spaces in community settings.
Municipalities entered in the competition are evaluated and awarded Bloom Ratings for achievement in categories such as Tidiness, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Urban Forestry, Landscape and Floral Displays. Community Involvement is a key component to all of the above categories.
In the year 2010 Aylmer achieved another 5 bloom rating and the Small Town International Category and was recognized for its youth Environmental Leadership Program.
Aylmer will be participating in the Circle of Excellence program in 2011. This is a nonevaluated category, but local CiB intitiatives are expected to continue in order to maintain our 5 bloom rating.
All residents, businesses and institutions are encouraged to put their best foot forward and continue to make Aylmer a great place to live, work and raise family.
